We count doors and drawer fronts, check the condition of your cabinet boxes, and help you choose a colour. You get a clear, itemized quote before any commitment.
Disassembly & Protection
All doors, drawer fronts and hardware are removed and labelled. Countertops, floors, appliances and cabinet boxes are fully masked.
Degreasing & Sanding
Kitchen grease is the #1 cause of peeling paint. Every surface is cleaned with a commercial degreaser, then hand-sanded so the primer bonds properly.
Bonding Primer
A bonding primer goes on every surface. For oak and wood-grain cabinets we use a grain-filling primer for a smooth painted look.
Two Sprayed Finish Coats
A kitchen-grade waterborne alkyd finish, sprayed in two coats. It cures hard and stands up to moisture and daily use.
Reassembly & Walkthrough
Hardware is reinstalled (or upgraded if you like), doors are adjusted, and we walk through the finished kitchen with you.

Cabinet Refinishing FAQ
How much does cabinet refinishing cost in Vancouver?
Cost depends on the number of doors and drawer fronts, the current finish and condition, and the colour you choose. We give free on-site quotes with a full breakdown of labour and materials — no hidden fees, and no work starts until you approve the price.
How long does it take?
Most kitchen cabinet projects take 3–5 business days from disassembly to reassembly. The finish reaches full hardness after 7–14 days, so we recommend avoiding abrasive cleaners during that period.
Will painted cabinets peel or chip?
Peeling almost always comes from skipped prep. We degrease, sand and prime every surface before two sprayed coats of a kitchen-grade waterborne alkyd. Done this way, refinished cabinets can last 10+ years with normal use — and our work carries a 2-year warranty.
Can you paint oak or wood-grain cabinets?
Yes — it is the most common project we do. We use a grain-filling primer so oak grain does not telegraph through the paint, giving you a smooth, modern painted finish.
Should I refinish or replace my cabinets?
If your cabinet boxes are structurally sound and you are happy with the layout, refinishing gives the same look at a fraction of the cost. If the boxes are warped or damaged, or you want to change the layout, replacement makes more sense — we will tell you honestly during the site visit.
