The Refinishing Process — What Actually Happens
Most homeowners assume cabinet painting is just brushing paint onto the doors. That's how you get a streaky, peeling finish within a year. Professional cabinet refinishing is a multi-stage process:
Disassembly
All doors, drawer fronts, and hardware are removed and tagged. Cabinet boxes are masked.
Cleaning & degreasing
Kitchen grease is the #1 cause of adhesion failure. Surfaces are cleaned with a commercial degreaser before any sanding begins.
Sanding
