What Affects the Cost of Interior Painting
Every home is different, so we quote after seeing the space. These are the main factors that change the price:

How much does interior painting cost in Vancouver?
Cost depends on square footage, the number of rooms, ceiling height, wall condition, trim and doors, and paint quality. A single accent wall costs far less than a whole-home repaint. Maple Brothers gives a free on-site assessment and a detailed written quote before any work begins, with no hidden fees.
How long does interior painting take?
A single room typically takes one day including prep, primer and two coats. A full-home interior repaint (3–4 bedrooms) usually runs 3–5 days depending on ceiling height, trim detail and how much patching is needed. Your quote includes a specific timeline.
Can interior painting be done in winter?
Yes. Interior painting is not weather-dependent, so it can be done year-round in Metro Vancouver. We use low-VOC paints and HEPA dust-free sanding, and manage ventilation so paint cures properly during the damp months.
Do you use low-VOC and eco-friendly paint?
Yes. Maple Brothers uses premium low-VOC paints and offers eco-friendly options from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, Cloverdale Paint and Dulux, which suits homes with children, pets or sensitivities.
How do you keep dust down?
Sanding is done with Festool HEPA dust-free systems that capture dust at the tool. Floors, furniture and fixtures are also covered, and the area is cleaned before we leave.
Do I need to move my furniture?
No. Our crew moves and protects furniture, floors and fixtures as part of every project. Clearing small items and wall art in advance speeds things up but is not required.
What paint finish should I use in each room?
As a general guide: eggshell or matte for bedrooms and living rooms, satin or semi-gloss for kitchens, bathrooms and hallways, and semi-gloss or gloss for trim and doors. We recommend a finish for each room in your quote.
Can you remove my popcorn ceiling and repaint in the same visit?
Yes. We remove popcorn and textured ceilings, apply a bonding primer and paint two coats. Homes built before 1990 must be tested for asbestos first, and we coordinate the testing as part of the quote.
Do you refinish cabinets and interior doors too?
Yes. We refinish kitchen and bathroom cabinets and interior doors with a sprayed finish, which is often much less than replacing them. See our cabinet refinishing page for the process and timeline.
